Sr. Network/Support Engineer

Job Description

 

Sr. Network / Support Engineers will be responsible for assisting customers and other employees with the installation, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support for all services.

Additionally:

 

Consummate customer skills are required for this position with special attention to customer communication skills. (The ability to communicate with the customer on their level without making them feel like they need a special decoder ring to understand what has been said.)
This engineer level employee may also train and certify other employees
Serve as expert technical consultant for other departments, including Sales and Business Development. This may also includes participation in executive sales presentations.
The candidate must be able to design and diagnose customer network architectures, implement solutions in the most efficient manner (according to the customer's needs) and also be able to troubleshoot any outages or issues, including the general account ownership.
The ability to learn new technologies quickly and efficiently is critical.

Job Requirements


Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in software or computer engineering preferred
Experience in a customer support organization (Excellent Customer Relations skills are required).
3+ years experience with Remote Access networking connectivity.
3+ years administering a Windows environment (including Windows NT 4.0/Windows 2000)
Strong understanding of moderate to advanced network principles and Internet architecture.
Strong understanding of network topologies and networking components including routers, switches, firewalls (hardware/software and network/personal)
Strong experience with various types of AAA Authentication (including Cisco ACS, RADIUS and TACACS+)
Strong knowledge of VPN Technology
Strong to advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS
Understanding of network access methods including dial up, ISDN, wired/wireless broadband.
Advanced Cisco certification a plus
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated
Must be a strong team player and self-starter
